Dave Mitchell
Dave graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in mass communications and business administration. He had already begun a career in broadcasting (starting in radio when he was 17) and upon graduation worked as a television reporter for a CBS network affiliate. He eventually became a producer for CBS and then decided to transfer his skills to a career in organizational development.
Dave spent 11 years in corporate human resources and organizational development, first at Marshall Field's and Company as their Corporate Manager of Training and Development and later at the Buena Vista Hospitality Group in Orlando as Vice President of Human Resources and Quality. His experience with these organizations and frequent requests to speak at professional associations provided a springboard for his speaking career.
Dave's focus is on enter-train-ment, a self coined term. The over 40 courses and keynotes created and delivered by Dave are designed to create laughter, joy and insight, hence his motto, "laugh and learn!" In 2000 Dave's enterprise became the largest training company in Central Florida through its work with high profile clients like AT&T, Allstate Insurance, General Motors, Chase Manhattan Banks, Hyatt Hotels, Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, General Dynamics and the CIA. Participants have called Dave's presentations, "awesome", "the most fun I have ever had at work" and "the best speaker I have ever heard".
As a key speaker / trainer, Dave provides keynotes, team-building events and training programs that focus on sales and leadership training, enhancement of individual and team performance, customer service levels, building personal success and stress / change management. Some of the specific programs that are sought after by top companies include "Live and Learn or Die Stupid", "Heart and Art of Service", and "The Power of Understanding People", to name just a few.
